Teeth Whitening Toothpastes

Teeth whitening toothpastes seem to be getting more and more media exposure.  The simple fact is that there have been no studies indicating that teeth whitening toothpaste actually has any effect.

At best you may be able to get your teeth one or two shades lighter so long as you continue to use teeth whitening toothpaste religiously.  Still, using teeth whitening toothpaste in conjunction with a professional grade teeth whitening product couldn’t hurt.

Teeth whitening toothpaste basically removes some of the external stains.  That is, it takes the stains off of the surface of the enamel.  Unfortunately, most stains go far deeper than that.  For those stains you need a teeth whitening product that can penetrate deep and significantly whiten your teeth.

Some people have had a great deal of success with teeth whitening gel kits.  Most of these kits use some kind of peroxide gel that helps to remove stains by teeth bleaching.

The teeth whitening products that seem to work best, are, by far, the complete professional grade teeth whitening products.  These teeth whitening products typically include trays that are custom fit to your mouth and will generally take most stains off and whiten all of your teeth dramatically in as little as a few days.

Some teeth whitening toothpaste brands are:

  • Rembrandt Extra Whitening™
  • Denblan  (natural toothpaste)
  • Crest Multi-Care Whitening
  • Arm & Hammer Whitening

This is not a comprehensive list of teeth whiteners but at least gives you an idea of what is available.  The Denblan natural teeth whitening toothpaste is a truly unique product containing herbs and natural ingredients assisting in not only whitening teeth but may actually improve the resistance of gum tissue.

We only have limited experience with the Denblan toothpaste but from our experience and reports that we’ve heard it does seem to be a very nice product.  Don’t get your hopes up about getting your teeth several shades whiter just by using this toothpaste though.  As we’ve said before, no toothpaste alone will substantially whiten your teeth.
